Prague
Black & white photography on the streets of Prague
Prague is one of the most impressive cities for those who enjoy architecture and photography. There are numerous neighbourhoods that cover a wide range of architectural history, from Medieval, Baroque, Neo-Classical, through to Art Nouveau and Functionalism.
Walking around Prague with your camera is akin to walking around one vast outdoor architectural museum. Prague is the largest urban historical centre listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After 5 days of exploring, I still didn’t get to see everything.

There are so many interesting streets to explore in Prague, a week there wasn’t long enough.

Charles Bridge
Connecting Prague Castle with the Old Town, across the Vitava river, this iconic medieval stone arch bridge is the most photographed landmark in Prague.
I made numerous visits to photograph it, at different times of day. Spanning almost 1,700 metres, construction commenced in 1357. Right up until 1870, it was the only means of crossing the river. Adolf Hitler was so impressed that he ordered it not to be destroyed as the Nazis retreated towards the end of the Second World War.
